Communication
I will primarily communicate through email and student agendas. Students need to have their agendas each day at school.
I check my email in the mornings and after school. However, if there is a transportation change please send a note in writing that morning with your child.

Classroom and school expectations
At Highland Creek we use the PBIS system (positive behavior intervention support). The philosophy revolves around accentuating the positive. We recognize, reinforce, and show appreciation for good behavior. The three main expectations are: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful.
Rewards and Consequences: Students will recognize that we need to work together to create a positive environment in the classroom. Rules are consistent throughout the school and within the classroom. A “code of conduct” form will need to be signed by parents and students and returned to school. We will earn school wide incentives as well as classroom incentives. A coupon system will be in place for individual behavior.
Rewards: In our class, teams will work together to earn team points by displaying PBIS expectations. This is a way to recognize students for making positive contributions to the classroom management and encourage individuals and teams toward academic and character growth. Students will earn a coupon for positive behavior that they may use at the end of the week for a reward.
Consequences: When a student chooses not to participate as a positive learning member of the class, the student will conference with the teacher to discuss consequences. In addition, a note written by the student, and signed by me, will be placed in the student’s agenda. This will keep you informed and allow you to follow up with your child.
